Public Involvement Committee

The Public Involvement Committee (PIC) is a group of Grand Traverse citizens who are working to get the word out about The Grand Vision. The PIC is an open committee and anyone from the public is invited to attend meetings and participate. The role of the public involvement committee is to:

  • Help provide strategic direction to the process for maximum participation

  • Identify opportunities to increase participation and/or improve the process

  • Strengthen the communications between all of the Grand Vision Communities


Responsibilities of the PIC are:

  • Communication

  • Outreach

  • Public Engagement


Goals of the PIC are:

  • Engage the maximum number of people, with the broadest representation from all sectors of the region in the Grand Vision process, by attending sessions and providing input thru other means

  • Increase the knowledge of the people in the region about a variety of options for the future


The Public Involvement Committee meets Wednesdays at noon at the Governmental Center in Traverse City (400 Boardman Ave.). The meetings are held in the second floor committee room. All meetings and minutes are open to the public and can be viewed in our PIC Group on Google located at:
